Mom, it has been about a week now since you left us and the pain and loneliness that I am feeling is still a large part of me. I just cannot believe that I will never talk to or see you again but I am so glad that you are not in any pain and that you are at peace with God. I look back now and I am so glad you were with me all those months but I feel so bad that I did not take more time out and just sit with you instead of working. You have made me realize what is really important in life but, unfortunately too late to make up for lost time with you. I found your letter to Damian that you never had a chance to mail and I am so sorry that I did not sit down with him and write you a letter. I know that you really wanted one from him. Please forgive me. If I had only known..... You are going to be missed so much. I look back at our lives and think of all the hard times that you went through and realize what a strong person you were and how much you deserve the peace and rest. You were the best mom ever. Despite all the hardships and the loss of three brothers you still stayed strong and raised the rest of us kids. You could have given up or even abandoned us, but you stuck by us until the end.
